
 Marc S. Browning - CEO
Mr. Browning, 47, is a founding member of the Company. He has over 20 years experience in the product development business working for Browning Research, Inc., a research and development business. He currently serves as the Interim President of Browning Component. From 1997 to July 2000, he was the acting CEO & President of the Company, overseeing the early stages and leading the Company through the product design, manufacturing setup, initial market acceptance and Company restructuring pieces. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Browning was the General Manager for Browning Automatic Transmissions, LP (BAT) during the design and development stage of the 4- and 12-speed automatic transmissions. He is the co-holder of a U.S. patent with related international patents covering the Browning system. Mr. Browning also serves on the board of BAT. He holds B.A. and M.F.A. degrees in Cinema/Television production from the University of Southern California. He is a resident of Seattle, Washington.
David Williams - CFO
Mr. Williams, 41, is a certified public accountant (CPA), certified financial planner (CFP) and certified management accountant (CMA). He holds an M.B.A. from Seattle University and a B.A. from the University of Puget Sound. Currently, Mr. Williams is president of David A. Williams, CPA, PS (which operates under the trade name "Fairwood Tax & Financial Services"). He is a member of the National Society of Tax Professionals, Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and Greater Renton Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Williams rode his bicycle across the United States and continues to enjoy bicycling with family and friends. He is married with two children and lives in Renton, Washington.
Helen E. Maurer - VP of Operations
Mrs. Maurer, 46, is responsible for managing the delivery of the Browning Component shifting system. She has 22-plus years of experience in manufacturing technology, including eight years involvement at the Browning Research Facility on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Between 1975 and 1996, Mrs. Maurer was employed by the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Center in Keyport, Washington. She worked her way up from a clerk/typist, to machinist to toolmaker, subsequently becoming the engineering/drafting senior technician. Mrs. Maurer has a B.S. degree in Workforce Education and Development. Married for 22 years with five children and four grandchildren, she currently resides in Kingston, Washington.
Chad E. Palmer - Sales Manager
Mr. Palmer, 30, comes to Browning with over 13 years of bicycle industry experience. Prior to joining Browning Component he was employed in several Northwest bicycle retail shops working from service and sales, to purchasing and management. Mr. Palmer also spent 2 years on the shop floors of Kinesis, a major frame manufacturer, performing a full range of positions. Chad also has many philanthropic activities related to bicycles, the most recent being coaching for the Leukemia society Team in Training Program. Mr. Palmer attended Western Illinois University where his studies included: Languages, Biology, and Photography. He is married and resides in Seattle, Washington.
Enzo Hang - Product Manager
Mr. Hang, 38, is a graduate of Fon-Cha University in Taichung City, Taiwan. His B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering has proved invaluable in the production of the Browning system. With four years' experience in machine shops and three years working for a fitness equipment OEM company, Mr. Hang has knowledge of many different engineering and design software programs. He now lives in Taichung City, Taiwan, with his wife and two young sons.
Peter Kauffman - Electronics Developer
Mr. Kauffman, 55, has many years experience in designing and manufacturing scientific instrumentation and specialized sensors. He is currently president and engineer of Northwest Metasystems Inc. Between 1972 and 1983, he worked with the University of Washington's Department of Atmospheric Sciences on an Arctic research study, where he was in charge of designing meteorological and oceanographic instrumentations for use in polar environments. He was also co-author of several research papers for publication. Between 1983 and 1990, Mr. Kauffman was involved with the engineering teams at GeoEnergy Corp., Coastal Climate Co., and DLI Engineering Co. In 1990, he returned to the University of Washington, this time joining the Oceanography Department where he is still involved with the design of experimental sensors and instruments used in the marine and earth sciences fields. Mr. Kauffman attended Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania, and currently resides on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
